ACADEMICS OVERVIEW
Curriculum
We employ a blended approach in the choice of curriculum used. BJU Press and ABEKA
materials are both used at every grade level. Both of these providers present material
from a Christian world view and have been providing high quality materials for Christian
schools for many years. In some of our high school classes, such as higher math and
business classes, we use other publishers such as Thompson and Southwestern.
Teachers
Our teachers are certified through the Georgia Association of Christian Schools teacher
certification program. They hold undergraduate and/or graduate level degrees from the
following colleges and universities: Valdosta State University, Campbell University, Florida
State University, Liberty University, Trinity Baptist College, Pensacola Christian College,
Providence Christian College, Bethany Bible College, Jones College, Covington
Theological Seminary, Southern Methodist College, University of Montevallo, Troy
University, and Andersonville Theological Seminary.
Pre-School
Our pre-school program includes K3, K4, and K5 classes. K3 classes meet three days per
week from 8:10 am to 12:00 pm. K4 and K5 classes meet five days per week from 8:10 am
to 12 pm with optional afternoon classes available. All core instruction occurs during the
morning classes.
Elementary
Grades 1 thru 5 are self-contained classes. Each grade receives separate music, Spanish,
library, and physical education instruction each week.
Middle Grades
In addition to the core subjects students take Reading, Speech, Art and Health. Both the
normal path (Pre-Algebra) and an advanced path (Algebra I) are available in 7th and 8th
grade depending on the student's aptitude in Math.
High School
Grades 9 thru 12 take a normal College Preparatory curriculum based on the Georgia
Department of Education course guidelines so that they are qualified for entry into the
state university system. They also take Bible and electives including Geography,
Journalism, Writer's Workshop, Speech, Accounting, Business, etc.
